Scanning Pokémon Cards in Eyevo: Getting a Clear Result

Start with one card, steady your phone and give the camera a clear view. After Eyevo suggests a match, compare the result with the card in your hand before saving it.

The important part is identifying the right printing. A familiar illustration alone does not confirm the set, number or finish.

Prepare the card and the light

Place a small group of cards beside you and keep the cards you have checked separate from those still waiting. Use diffuse light and clean the phone’s camera lens.

Reflections can hide artwork and text, especially on foil cards and sleeves. Change the light or the angle slightly if a bright reflection covers part of the card. Keep protected cards sleeved where possible and handle them by the edges.

Use a view of one card at a time. A whole binder-page photo does not create a complete inventory of every card on the page.

Check the card language

Eyevo supports cards in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese and Traditional Chinese. Coverage varies by card and release.

Choose the card languages you collect in the app. The language of the interface is separate from the language printed on your physical cards. Translating the website does not add another recognized card language.

Scan, then review the result

Hold the phone steady with the full card visible. Give the app time to return a result before moving to the next card.

Compare these details with your copy:

• Set and full collector number.
• Printed language and illustration.
• Edition mark or promo stamp, where present.
• Physical foil treatment and the matching printing.

Choose the correct finish yourself. A result that recognizes the artwork does not prove that your copy is the regular, holo or reverse-holo version. Check card variants when similar entries appear.

When the suggested match needs checking

First improve the view: remove glare, include the full card and steady the phone. Try again with the same card rather than adding an uncertain result to your collection.

If you already have a clear photograph, use Eyevo’s scan-from-photo flow. Use one card per photo and review the result in the same way.

You can also search by name, collector number or set. Compare the search result with the physical card. Search is useful when you know part of the card’s identity or need to check a similar printing.

Work through a stack in small groups

A scan session lets you continue through a group and review the results together. Feed or present cards individually; keep the next card clear of the camera until you are ready.

Review quantities, languages and finishes before adding the group to a collection. Then compare the saved entries with the physical cards.

Prepare before scanning offline

Connect first and download the card data you need. Supported offline views use the information already available on the device; some checks and fresh updates need a connection.

Common questions

Can a scan tell whether a card is genuine?

No. A catalog match does not authenticate the physical card. Inspect authenticity separately.

Will scanning automatically grade my card’s condition?

No. Inspect the front, back, edges and surface yourself. For an already graded card, use the company and grade shown on its holder.

Can I scan several cards in one photo?

Use one card per view or saved photograph. Work through a group sequentially and review the matches before saving.

What should I check before adding cards to a collection?

Confirm the set, number, language, printing and quantity. Keep different finishes as the correct separate entries rather than treating every copy with the same artwork as identical.
