Scan & identify
Scan Pokémon cards offline
At a card show with poor reception, you can still scan cards and save them in Eyevo. First download the card data and prepare the scanner for the languages you collect while online. Before leaving, try a scan with Wi-Fi and mobile data switched off.

Step by step
-
While connected, open Eyevo and finish the initial card-data download. Open the live scanner and choose the card language you will use; wait for any language or scanner download to finish.
-
If you collect Japanese or Traditional Chinese cards, prepare that catalog and scanner language too. A downloaded English catalog does not prepare every card language.
-
Switch off Wi-Fi and mobile data on your phone or tablet. Open the live scanner and scan a familiar card. Compare the name, set and collector number with the physical card.
-
Review the scan session, choose the correct finish and quantity, then add the card to the intended collection. Recognition alone does not save your inventory.
-
Open that collection and check the saved entry. Close and reopen Eyevo while still disconnected, then find the card again. Repeat with a few cards from the languages and sets you plan to bring.
Prepare the cards you will actually bring
A few familiar cards make a useful check before a trip: one regular card, one reverse holo and a card in another language if you collect one. Check the printing yourself; recognizing the artwork does not establish the finish.
On iPhone, iPad and Android, prepare the selected language before relying on the live scanner without a connection. Card-catalog coverage and scanner coverage can differ. If the scanner misses a card, search by its name or number in the downloaded catalog and check the set before adding it.
Keep the saved inventory separate from fresh prices
Your downloaded catalog and saved collections remain available offline. Prices already on the device can remain visible too, but they reflect an earlier update. A missing image or price does not mean that the card is absent from your collection.
Reconnect before comparing a trade or sale against current values. Price downloads and collection sync need the internet. Cards saved while disconnected should be checked in their collection before you rely on them on another device.
If the scanner asks for a download
Reconnect and finish preparing the selected card language, then repeat the disconnected check. Switching to a language you have never prepared may require another download. Keep your installed app and its data in place while you are away.
If a particular card still does not match, reduce glare and check the language and number. Manual search is a useful fallback. You can also keep a photo of the card and identify it later when you have a connection.
Choose the live scanner for your offline check
Scan from Photo is a separate flow with an optional online check for difficult photos. That check needs the internet and can be switched off in the app. Test the flow you intend to use before leaving; a successful live scan does not confirm that every photo check is available offline.
Offline use does not remove plan limits. The free plan has a daily live-scan limit on iPhone and iPad; Pro removes that limit.
Common questions
Why is the card image missing after an offline scan?
Card images are downloaded separately. If an image is not already on your device, it may be missing while offline. You can still scan the card. Reconnect to load the image.
Do I need internet the first time?
Yes. Finish the initial card-data download and prepare each scanner language you need while connected. Wait for downloads to finish before switching off Wi-Fi and mobile data.
Will I see prices offline?
Prices already downloaded can remain visible. They are the last available values on that device, not a live quote. Reconnect to get updates; not every card has an available price.
Does Scan from Photo work offline?
Its optional online photo check needs a connection. You can switch that check off in the app. Try your chosen flow while disconnected before you rely on it away from home.
How do I know the card was saved?
Open the destination collection and check its set, number, finish and quantity. Close and reopen Eyevo without reconnecting, then find that same entry again.
Can I scan German Pokémon cards offline on an iPhone?
Yes. Once Eyevo is set up, you can scan German Pokémon cards without an internet connection. Card images do not need to be downloaded for scanning. Artwork that has not been saved on your device may be missing while offline.
