Multi-language

Supports cards in English, German, French, and Spanish.

The Eyevo card scanner is the fastest way to identify a Pokemon trading card with an iPhone. Point the camera at any card and the app returns the exact set, number, rarity, and current market value in well under one second on modern hardware. The scanner matches what the camera sees against more than 22,000 Pokemon cards across 197+ sets and runs entirely on-device, so scanning works on a plane, in a card shop with bad Wi-Fi, or anywhere else without a connection.

How the scanner identifies a Pokemon card

The scanner finds the card in the live camera frame, corrects for tilt and perspective, and works on a clean view of the artwork. It tolerates partial occlusion, glare from holographic foil, and angled shots — you do not need to lay the card flat or hold the phone perfectly steady.

Eyevo only confirms a match when its confidence is high. Below that bar the app shows nearby candidates instead of guessing — a deliberate trade-off, because a wrong match is worse than asking the user to confirm. In practice the scanner returns the right card on the first attempt for the vast majority of raw cards.

The scanner respects card variants from the moment of identification. A reverse-holo Pikachu, a Master Ball pattern reprint, and a normal-art version of the same Pokedex entry each resolve to a different card with its own pricing record. This matters because the value gap between variants of the same Pokemon often runs into double-digit multipliers.

Sub-second performance, even offline

The full card database ships inside the app. There is no round-trip to a server during identification, so the scanner does not slow down on bad Wi-Fi, in airplane mode, or in a convention hall where everyone shares one cell tower.

Eyevo automatically uses the fastest hardware available on each iPhone, so newer devices feel near-instant and older devices still keep up. On a recent iPhone the scanner is consistently sub-second from card-in-frame to identification-on-screen.

Live pricing is the only piece that requires a network connection. When you are offline the scanner still identifies the card, shows its set and rarity, and serves the last cached prices.

Slabs and graded cards

Eyevo reads graded slabs as well as raw cards. When you point the camera at a PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC, ACE, or TAG slab, the scanner identifies the card behind the case and reads the company and grade off the label. The result on screen is the matching company-and-grade comp pulled from real eBay sold listings — not asks, not list price, but what people actually paid in the last 30 days.

Half-grades are first-class citizens. BGS 9.5, CGC 9.5, SGC 8.5, ACE 9.5, and every other half-grade the major companies issue are tracked alongside whole grades. You will not get a PSA-9-shaped answer when you scanned a CGC 9.5.

Languages and edge cases

The scanner currently identifies cards printed in English, German, French, and Spanish. Recognition is anchored on the artwork rather than a printed text read, so unusual layouts, language variants, and reprints with non-standard text blocks still resolve to the correct entry.

The scanner also handles error prints, miscut cards, and Special Illustration Rares (SIR/SAR) that pure text-only scanners often misclassify, because identification does not depend on a brittle character-by-character read of the card body.

Common questions

Does Eyevo work without an internet connection?

Yes. Card identification is fully on-device. Only live pricing needs a network connection — without one, the app shows the most recently cached prices.

How accurate is the scanner?

Eyevo identifies raw Pokemon cards with roughly 99% accuracy on the first scan. When confidence is low the app shows the top candidates instead of guessing, so the user can confirm the correct match in one tap.

Can it scan slabbed (graded) cards?

Yes. The scanner reads the company and grade off PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC, ACE, and TAG slabs and pulls the matching sold-listing comp for that exact (company, grade) combination.
