Pokemon Prime Cards: Complete List & Values (2026)
Pokemon Prime cards are the signature ultra rares of the HeartGold & SoulSilver era (2010–2011) — instantly recognizable by their oversized character close-up, foil frame, and the silver “PRIME” stamp. Only 26 were ever printed across four sets, and fifteen years later they’ve become one of the most collected vintage-adjacent card lists in the hobby.
This is the complete list, ranked by current market price.
What is a Prime card?
Prime cards appeared in the four HGSS-era sets — HeartGold & SoulSilver, Unleashed, Undaunted, and Triumphant — as the era’s top regular rarity (alongside the two-piece LEGEND cards). Mechanically they were stronger versions of standard Pokemon, but their collectibility comes from the design: zoomed-in artwork that breaks the card frame, a textured holo treatment, and a small print window before the Black & White era replaced them entirely.
Because the HGSS sets sold modestly at the time and were never reprinted, Prime card supply is genuinely thin compared to anything printed after 2011.

Gengar
Triumphant
$435.28
The big three
Gengar Prime (Triumphant #94) is the king of the list at ~$435. Triumphant was the last and shortest-printed HGSS set, Gengar has one of the strongest collector bases of any Pokemon, and the artwork is arguably the best of the entire Prime series. PSA 10 copies trade at a steep multiple.
Umbreon Prime (Undaunted #86) at ~$415 is the Eeveelution tax in vintage form — the same demand that drives Moonbreon drives this card. Undaunted also produced Espeon Prime (#81) at ~$150, and the pair is one of the hobby’s classic “complete the duo” chases.
Mew Prime (Triumphant #97) rounds out the top three at ~$218 — Mew, short print run, last set of the era.
Are Prime cards a good buy in 2026?
The case for: fixed supply (no reprints, ever), a small completable list (26 cards), and demand that has compounded steadily rather than spiked. The case against: condition. HGSS holos are notorious for print lines and silvering, so gem-mint copies are scarce and raw copies need close inspection — exactly the situation where buying graded or scanning carefully pays off.
FAQ
How many Pokemon Prime cards are there?
26, printed across HeartGold & SoulSilver (6), Unleashed (6), Undaunted (6), and Triumphant (8) in 2010–2011.
What is the most expensive Prime card?
Gengar Prime from Triumphant, at roughly $435 raw and far more in PSA 10.
Are Prime cards rarer than modern ultra rares?
In absolute supply, generally yes — HGSS print runs were a fraction of modern sets, and there’s been no reprint since 2011. Pull rates per pack were comparable to other era ultra rares, but far fewer packs exist.
